What is Digital India Portal and Registration Process?

Digital India Portal is is an online platform developed by MieTY, India. It is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India with digital empowerment and reach in remote areas. It is focused on connected all government departments digitally with each other. It all started in 1990s with initiatives such as railway computerization, land record computerization and now it is being spread to other departments such as NSDL, UIDAI and more.

What is Digital Indian Portal, Services, Registration, Application Process?


In 2006; National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) was introduced to empower e-governance in India through digitization of almost 30 domains of government such as agriculture, land records, health, education, passports, police, courts, municipalities, commercial taxes and treasuries. Further it was found that NeGP lacked integration amongst Government applications and databases thus inhibiting complete connectivity among departments.

Thus e-Kranti programme emerged to improve these shortcoming and enhance connectivity through mobile applications and cloud based systems. It was introduced with three key visions and that focussed on all key areas which are required to get government connected with the common citizen; Thus empowering e-governance.

How to register for CSC (Common Service Center) or Digital India Registration?


To regsiter a CSC, On Needs to follow simple steps to complete registration. Here are the simple steps as required by the official website.

  1. Go to Official Digital India Registration CSC Portal: https://register.csc.gov.in/
  2. Select the Type of Application for enrollment of CSC.
  3. Enter valid SHG/RDD/CSC-VLE code to proceed.
  4. Enter your mobile number.
  5. Enter the captcha as displayed on the screen.
  6. Click on Submit and proceed to next step.
  7. Follow the further steps as required and fill the details.
  8. Submit PAN and Aadhar Card Number.
  9. Now your application is registered.
  10. Take printout of Digital India Registration application.
  11. You can check status of your registration at https://register.csc.gov.in/register/status
  12. You can reprint the CSC application at https://register.csc.gov.in/register/confirmation/reprint
  13. You can update UID token at https://register.csc.gov.in/update/token
