A period film that has been making news is Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat. Starring Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, the film has been making headlines from the day it went on floors. It is based on the 3rd Battle of Panipat that took place between Afghans and Marathas. In the film, Arjun will be seen as a Maratha warrior, Sadashiv Rao Bhau who fights the Afghan leader Ahmad Shah Abdali, played by Sanjay Dutt. Amidst all the buzz about the shoot, the latest report suggests a veteran Bollywood actress has come on board Panipat.
Yes, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Zeenat Aman will be seen in a cameo in Arjun and Kriti’s film. Zeenat Aman will be seen playing the role of Sakina Begum who is from Hoshiyarganj and is a feisty lady. She will be seen helping Arjun’s character, Sadashiv in the film and will play an important role. The director of the film, Ashutosh confirmed the same and mentioned, “Zeenat ji will be seen in a cameo as Sakina Begum, a feisty character leading her province of Hoshiyarganj. Her character lives within the confines of her kingdom, aloof from the politics of the region, till Arjun’s Sadashiv Rao Bhau turns to her for help.” He also revealed that she will begin shooting next week for the film and her look is something he is excited to reveal.
Back in the days, Zeenat and Ashutosh have worked together in a 1989 film, Gawaahi. In Panipat, audiences will get to see the Third Battle on screen between Arjun aka Sadashiv and Sanjay as Ahmed Shah Abdali. The film also stars Mohnish Bahl, Kunal Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure in important roles. Kriti Sanon will be seen as Parvati Bai, who was the second wife of Sadashiv Rao Bau. The film has been shot in parts of Rajasthan and Arjun has worked a lot on himself for the film. He is often seen working out at the gym and also shares photos of his well-chiseled body on social media.
