75% Voter Turnout in MP and Mizoram

Recent assemble elections in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram saw a 75% voter turnout. The poll is held for 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh and 40 seats in Mizoram.

Again there were a lot of complaints for faulty EVM in MP where there is a tough battle between the ruling BJP and the Congress which is out of power in Madhya Pradesh for past 15 years. Mizoram is also witnessing a tough fight between both parties.

Around 1145 EVM and 1545 VVPATs were replaced by EC after the complaints of faulty machines.

State Congress president Kamal Nath said there were reports from across the state that EVMs did not work at many places. “This affected polling. Long queues were witnessed…” he said.

There were 2899 can and 5.05 crore eligible voters who were part of the MP assembly poll.

While in Mizoram, there were 770395 voters and 209 candidates.

This election is also a testimony for 2019 general elections.
