Passing of Darren Kent, Actor from 'Game of Thrones' and 'Dungeons and Dragons', at Age 36

Miami, USA: Darren Kent, an actor known for his appearances in shows like "Game of Thrones," "Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves," and "EastEnders," passed away on Friday at the age of 36.

His talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, confirmed his passing through a statement posted on Twitter this Tuesday.

"It is with profound sadness that we must inform you of the peaceful passing of our dear friend and client Darren Kent on Friday," the agency wrote. "His parents and closest friend were by his side. Our thoughts and love go out to his family during this challenging time. Rest in peace, my friend."

Hailing from Essex, Kent was born and raised there and attended Italia Conti, completing his studies in 2007. His breakthrough acting role came in the form of the 2008 horror film "Mirrors." He later appeared in an episode of "Game of Thrones," portraying a goatherd in Slavers Bay. More recently, he played the role of a reanimated corpse in the 2023 movie "Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves."

Among his other credits are roles in productions like "Snow White and the Huntsman," "Marshal’s Law," "Bloody Cuts," "The Frankenstein Chronicles," "Blood Drive," "Les Misérables," "Green Fingers," "EastEnders," "Happy Hours," "Love Without Walls," and "Birds Sorrow."

A notable achievement was Kent's win as Best Actor at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his portrayal of Danny, a young boy with a rare skin condition preventing him from being in the sunlight, in "Sunny Boy." Interestingly, Kent personally dealt with a skin disorder akin to his character's in the film, along with osteoporosis and arthritis. He was also recognized as an award-winning writer and director, having directed the short film "You Know Me" in 2021, which earned him a January Award.
