Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Reviews Call It an Action-Packed Triumph

With only weeks left before the premiere of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, critical reactions have dropped regarding the upcoming MCU superhero movie. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released in theaters on September 3, with a 45-day window of theatrical exclusivity before becoming available for audiences to stream on Disney+.

In Shang-Chi, Simu Liu stars as the titular hero, who is trained by his father at a very young age to become a skilled assassin and eventually eschews his upbringing in the mysterious Ten Rings organization for a normal life in San Francisco. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also stars Awkwafina as Katy, Meng'er Zhang as Shang-Chi's estranged sister Xialing, Fala Chen as Jiang Li, Florian Munteanu as the mercenary known as Razor Fist, Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, Tony Leung as Shang-Chi's father Wenwu/The Mandarin, Ronny Chieng as Jon Jon, Jade Xu as a Black Widow, and Dallas Liu in an undisclosed role. Additionally, Benedict Wong and Tim Roth reprise their roles from previous Marvel movies, playing Wong and the Abomination, respectively. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who co-writes the screenplay alongside Dave Callaham.
