Cybercriminals are tricking users and stealing money from their bank accounts via QR code scam. The scam involves fraudsters sharing their QR codes usually via WhatsApp to make payments and then trap the victims to send money. There has been a sudden increase in such cases across cities. In most cases, fraudsters approach those who have posted ads for sale of furniture or other items online. Recently, Cyberabad police shared an advisory warning citizens about such frauds.
