Kedarnath, starring Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput, is a love story set against the backdrop of catastrophic floods that had almost destroyed the town in 2014. Ever since the trailer and teaser of Kedarnath hit the web, priests from the shrine-town have been wildly protesting against the film, saying that it is a case of "love-jihad", as the two lead characters are Hindu and Muslim, who fall in love.
Priests were also protesting against the film as there "vulgar dance sequences" being shot around the shrine. Therefore; District Magistrate Nainital Vinod Kr Suman ordered a ban on the film in Nainital district.
Kedarnath, which is Sara Ali Khan's debut, hit the screens on December 7.
